The Drayton Plains Nature Center, located in Waterford Township, Michigan contains 137 acres, an expanse of nearly one mile in length, and exhibits our Earth’s finest treasure—Nature.  The grounds include woods, ponds, streams, and a prairie.  The Membership is dedicated to preserving and protecting the natural world for enjoyment and education in our community.

Along with expansive trails and ponds, we offer a Nature Center where kids and adults can learn about the natural world in a ‘hands-on’ environment.  We also offer classes for pre-school through high school kids which meet the MEGOSE Benchmarks and we offer many opportunities for Scouts—from Brownie Try-It’s to Eagle Scout Projects!  See links for more information.

Please note: Our nature center is NOT licensed to take in injured or abandoned wildlife.  If you find an injured animal in the Waterford area, please call Naomi Wilson—Wildlife Rehabilitator at 248-673-5803.
